Another snapshot is already here, and this time with adjustments for the upcoming update of the year! So, today we explore Minecraft 1.20 Snapshot 23W14A and highlight the changes that are coming our way.

New Features

Minecraft 1.20 Snapshot 23W14A adjusts blocks, new and old, including sculk shriekers! Find out the highlights below.

Sculk Blocks

This snapshot introduced quite a few changes for sculk blocks! Sculk shriekers no longer make noise when waterlogged, calibrated sculk sensors now detect vibrations every second, and calibrated sculk sensors detection range was doubled to 16 blocks away.

Desert Temples

Desert temple generation was slightly changed as well. Now the newly added hidden room is a bit more obvious, with one suspicious sand always generating on top.

New Icons

Finally, Mojang announced a new logo for Minecraft Java Edition and new icons for the launcher and game. They take a much smoother appearance that looks fantastic, but as odd as it may sound, it is still sad to see the old ones go away.
