With a full set of diamonds, the day has finally arrived. Braving the nether<\/a> to upgrade your gear using an ancient ore lost to time! Today we explore how to find netherite ore in Minecraft alongside the best mining methods the nether has ever known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entering the Nether<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Before a player can begin their nether adventure, a portal must be made. This requires ten obsidian alongside flint & steel<\/a> to light the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Place two obsidian on the ground with a dirt block on either side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Stack three obsidian on top of each dirt block.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Place one dirt block on top of each pillar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Place the final two obsidian between the two dirt blocks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Once complete, the portal should be an obsidian frame with a three by two open space inside that can be ignited with flint & steel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Netherite ore, or ancient debris as it is called in-game,<\/a> generates most commonly on layer y = 15. Those on Java Edition can see coordinates by clicking F3, while Bedrock Edition players will need to enable the coordinates through their client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Players searching for ancient debris simply need to mine at this layer but be prepared for lengthy expeditions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Find Netherite Ore Using TNT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Ancient debris has a very high resistance to explosions, making it safe to use TNT. This is best achieved by digging a long tunnel along y = 15 and placing TNT close enough together to cause a chain reaction of explosions. The result is your very own nether cave<\/a> to walk through in search of Ancient Debris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because it is the nether, the cheaper alternative of beds is also possible, but this is much more dangerous, especially without blast protection armor. If this method is being used, be sure to click the bed from as far away as possible to minimize damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    With that, you should soon have yourself some ancient debris to smelt into netherite scraps.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
