So, today we explore Minecraft 1.20 Snapshot 23W14A and highlight the changes that are coming our way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Features<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Time for a new Minecraft logo and menu background &#8211; here&#39;s snapshot 23w14a! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1wNWjtkyNp\">https:\/\/t.co\/1wNWjtkyNp<\/a><\/p>&mdash; slicedlime \ud83d\udc99\ud83d\udc9b (@slicedlime) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/slicedlime\/status\/1643603028581179392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 5, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Minecraft 1.20 Snapshot 23W14A adjusts blocks, new and old, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meloncube.net\/blog\/minecraft-1-19-blocks-all-new-additions\/\">sculk shriekers!<\/a> Find out the highlights below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sculk Blocks<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>This snapshot introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meloncube.net\/blog\/minecraft-1-19-biomes-all-new-additions\/\">quite a few changes<\/a> for sculk blocks! Sculk shriekers no longer make noise when waterlogged, calibrated sculk sensors now detect vibrations every second, and calibrated sculk sensors detection range was doubled to 16 blocks away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Desert Temples<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Desert temple generation was slightly changed as well. Now the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meloncube.net\/blog\/most-anticipated-features-of-minecraft-1-20-trails-tales\/\">newly added hidden room<\/a> is a bit more obvious, with one suspicious sand always generating on top.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Icons<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, Mojang announced a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.minecraft.net\/en-us\/article\/our-icons-are-changing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new logo for Minecraft Java Edition<\/a> and new icons for the launcher and game. First, open the Minecraft Launcher and enable snapshots in the \u2018Installations\u2019 tab. Second, click \u201cNew Installation,\u201d select \u201cLatest Snapshot\u201d in the drop-down menu, and then click create. The new snapshot installation will now be a selectable option before clicking play!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, significant content updates such as snapshot 23W14A require a few extra steps. Once loaded into the game, click \u201cCreate New World,\u201d select <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meloncube.net\/blog\/five-must-try-minecraft-data-packs\/\">\u201cDatapacks,\u201d<\/a> and enable \u201cbundle\u201d and \u201cupdate_1_20\u201d before clicking \u201cCreate New World\u201d again. With the new world created, select it, and click play!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note snapshots and pre-releases can corrupt worlds!
